Sally Shapiro has been nominated as "female artist of the year" and "Disco Romance" as "electronic/dance album of the year" over at Plug Awards, a U.S. award for independent music. Followers of my music may remember my limited edition (but not sold out) 3.5" floppy disk single "Too much time and too many toys" which was released on my own label Husmus Media in the summer of 2006, getting no attention at all since I didn't send any promos. So I was very surprised when I was suddenly interviewed for the U.K. magazine Dazed & Confused about an article on music on floppy disk, the article ran in the November 2007 issue. The interviewer found me through a Google search.

Finally, Facebook now has musician's pages and I've got myself an account (Sally too) so now you can connect to me there if you have a Facebook account.

Some of the participants of the festival will perform their shows from other parts of the world via the net. The festival takes place in an apartment in Gothenburg, but you will be able to listen to it live via the net.

The number of listeners in the apartment is strictly limited, and as an artist I am only allowed to bring three people. Just get in contact with me if you would like to be one of the three! Every participant brings their own pair of earphones.

january 11th, 2006: upcoming live show + new italo disco track

I'm glad to announce that I will perform my music live for the first time on Thursday, February 16th in the city of Linköping, Sweden! It will be an ambient concert in a small and cosy venue called "Lilla scenen". Lisa Andrén will sing on some of the songs!

Time: 19:00.
Entrance fee: SEK 30

How to get there (in Swedish):
Ta dig till Gamla Linköping. Gå Majgatan från Malmslättsvägen. Gå igenom första gröna grinden på höger sida till det gulbruna uthuset (Sundbergska längan).
.
Also, I've made a new italo disco track called "I'll be by your side" [one-minute sample] with vocals by Sally Shapiro (whose real name is something else). My first attempt to make a track with a more traditional verse-refrain structure. Very nostalgic sound... I even mastered the thing on myold tape-recorder in order to get a more analogue feel... This is probably going to be released on vinyl (more details to follow) so it is only available as a one-minute sample at the moment.

december 18th, 2005: radio show

German webradio Welt-am-Draht broadcast one hour of my music (with comments) on Thursday, December 15th 22:00-23:00. If you missed it you can download it as an mp3 podcast (available for a few months).

october 31st, 2005: two new tracks

New web site layout and two brand new tracks:

"Amylium casparium" [full length track] is an ambient track, the idea of which came up in a dream. I woke up in the middle of the night, had been dreaming about a synthesizer and had the embryo to this track in my head! The drums are sampled from a toy keyboard called Casiotone MT-52, which sounds quite cute... The lead sound is also sampled from that instrument, where it is unbelievably labelled as "electric guitar"!

"Krullalfa" [full length track] (Norweigan word meaning "curly alfa", i.e. @) was supposed to be an ambient track, but instead it developed into an electro thing with a jazzy feel.

november 20th, 2004: web site launched

On November 20th, this web site was launched.
